Shanghai Global Increases Capital to Expand Molecular Sieve Production Capacity

On April 19, Shanghai Global Molecular Sieve Co., Ltd., a joint venture between UOP and Shanghai Huayi Group, announced on the 15th anniversary of its production that it would increase its capital to build the fourth phase of the expansion project, which will enable the company's molecular sieve production capacity from 2005. The annual 7650 tons will increase to 18,000 tons in 2010. At the same time, we will continue to introduce new products and new technologies so that we can synchronize with UOP in the United States and maintain our leading position in the field of molecular sieves.

Molecular sieve products are important raw materials for industries such as petrochemicals, metallurgy, refrigeration and new building materials. They are widely used in gas separation, natural gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemicals, insulating glass and refrigeration equipment. Fumed silica is a nano-scale white powder produced by hydrolysis of silicon halide in hydrogen-oxygen flame at high temperature, commonly known as fumed silica. It is an amorphous silica product with primary particle size of 7-40 nm, aggregate particle size of 200-500 nm, specific surface area of 100-400 m2/g, high purity and SiO2 content of not less than 99.8%.
