Scientists use silver and graphene to create flexible screens

According to foreign media Telegraph, a few days ago, British scientists used silver and graphene as raw materials to invent a cheap flexible touch screen.
Currently, touch screens that are common on the market are very fragile because they are usually made of indium tin oxide and covered with a layer of glass so that when it falls to the ground, it is easily crushed.
This indium tin oxide is not only fragile, but its preparation is still difficult, which makes the cost of repairing the touch screen always high.
However, scientists at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom recently discovered that we can combine graphene, a substance composed of a single layer of carbon atoms, with silver nanowires to create a A screen with similar performance to a conventional display, and the cost of this manufacturing technique is only a fraction of the cost of conventional display manufacturing.
The material is also very flexible at the same time, so it does not require a glass protective layer, which means that the top layer of the touch screen can be replaced with some more flexible materials that are less likely to be broken, such as plexiglass.
Dr Matthew Large, who led the research at the School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the University of Sussex, said: "The reason why the touch screen on your phone is so easily broken is mainly because of the touch sensor. The transparent conductive material is indium tin oxide. This material is very fragile, so it requires a hard surface like glass to protect it."
“If your phone drops on a hard surface, or if you accidentally sit on your phone, the broken thing is actually the glass layer. The latest material we developed does not require a hard glass surface. Because the screen made of a mixture of silver nanowires and graphene is very flexible."
"We will still need a protective layer, but it can be something more flexible outside of the glass. This way, when you accidentally drop your smartphone to the ground, your phone's screen will not be so fragile. ."
Although silver is also a rare metal, the difference in metallic indium is that graphene can be mixed with a small amount of silver to cover the same area. The amount of graphite required to prepare graphene is very rich, so the cost of preparing such a screen can be drastically reduced.
Scientists have discovered that they can float graphene atoms on the surface of the water, pick them up with special tools, and place them on top of the silver nanowire film in any way to complete the material preparation.
Professor Alan Dalton of the School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the University of Sussex said: "By using sprayers and roller presses, we can easily silver on a large scale in this way. Nanowires and graphene are combined. This means that fragile mobile phone screens will soon be a thing of the past."
“The addition of graphene to silver nanowires also increases the conductivity of the screen material by a factor of almost 10,000 times.”
“This means that we can produce the same level or better performance screen with a small dose of silver. Screens made with this material can respond faster and consume less power.”
Dr. Rach finally added: "This paves the way for us to develop equipment that can be bent at will." This research has been published in the American Chemical Society magazine "Langmuir". (Source: China Industrial Network)

Combined Flow Closed Cooling Tower

Closed Cooling Tower is operated by circulating water or fluid, which is divided into two closed loops.

1. Circulation in the tower: the circulating water or fluid passes through the hot zone environment. After the water temperature rises, it enters the surface cooler in the tower, and the heat is sent to the environment outside the tower through the surface cooler and ventilation fan. The cooled circulating water or fluid is sent to the heat source by the water pump.

2. Circulation outside the tower: the spray water is sent to the spray system by the water tank through the water pipe. After spraying, the spray water first exchanges heat with the filler, so that the spray water can be cooled rapidly. At this time, the water contacts the surface of the surface cooler for heat exchange. Part of the hot steam is discharged through the ventilation fan, and the cooled spray water drops to the water tank for secondary circulation to form an external circulation for cooling.
