At present, the raw materials for marine propellers are generally copper, which is expensive and not light. Replaced by CFRP, only 1/5 of the same copper weight, can increase fuel efficiency by 3%, corrosion resistance is also enhanced, cavitation is suppressed and easy to replace, especially suitable for diving vessels and research vessels, etc., with good market demand. .

In order to achieve commercial use within 2-3 years, Nakajima propellers have begun to test applications on board, collect data, and accelerate the development of related technologies such as material testing and heat treatment.

It is understood that as the largest manufacturer of marine propellers in Japan, Nakajima propellers achieved a turnover of 21.1 billion yen ($275 million) during the fiscal year from April 2010 to March 2011, accounting for 70% of the Japanese propeller market. .
